Terms of use

The service

Guides Nepal is a free directory of trekking guides, porters, cultural guides, naturalist guides and agencies in Nepal, with messaging and reviews. It is free for travellers and for guides. By creating an account, you accept these terms.

A directory, not an agency

The site puts people in touch; it does not organise treks, is not a party to the agreement between a traveller and a guide or agency, takes no payment and does not guarantee services. Check the price, itinerary, insurance and what is included directly with the guide. The “Registered agency” badge means a registration or a document was checked on a given date, not a guarantee of the service. Reviews are published after their author’s email address is confirmed and a moderator has read them; the site cannot prove that the service took place. Never pay a deposit to someone you cannot identify.

Guides and agencies agree to

  • Provide accurate, up-to-date information and only genuine licences and documents.
  • Only publish photos they took or are allowed to use; they allow the site to display them, free of charge, for as long as the listing exists.
  • Comply with Nepalese law, in particular the rules on guiding in protected areas.
  • Not solicit fake reviews.
  • Only add people to an agency team with their consent.

Travellers agree to

  • Only write honest reviews of a service actually received, without insults or other people’s personal data.
  • Use the messaging to prepare a trip, without canvassing or abusive content.

No reuse of the site’s data

The listings, reviews and contact details published on the site are only for travellers preparing a trip. All visitors, whether registered or not, must not:

  • extract or copy the site’s content in an automated or systematic way (robots, scripts, harvesting or “scraping”), except for indexing by search engines;
  • collect the contact details of guides and agencies, or any other data from the site, to reuse them for commercial or professional purposes: canvassing, prospecting, building contact lists, feeding a directory or a competing service;
  • use the messaging to offer guides another service or another platform.

The site’s database is protected by the sui generis database right (articles L. 341-1 and following of the French Intellectual Property Code). Any breach may lead to access being blocked, the account being deleted and legal action.

Moderation

Listings are reviewed before publication. The site may refuse, suspend or remove a listing, review, reply or message that breaches these terms or the law, and suspend an account in case of abuse. Any user can report a message; to report a listing or a review: [email protected].

Liability

Listings, messages and reviews are the responsibility of their authors. The site does its best to stay available and accurate but cannot guarantee it, and cannot be held liable for damage resulting from a service agreed between a traveller and a guide.

Leaving

You can delete your account at any time from your Cause We Are Young account (“My account” → “Manage my account”): your listing, messages and reviews are then erased from this site.

Changes and governing law

These terms may change; the version in force is the one published on this page (updated on 17 October 2026). They are governed by French law.
